Yoga
Yoga for the Youth helps teens understand the benefits of movement by providing them with the space to express themselves creatively. By introducing teens to the practice of yoga as a form of recreation students become more physically, mentally, energetically, and emotionally fit. Yoga means union to yoke; referencing the union of the body, mind, and breath. The emphasis in this class is the asana practice, which refers to poses and postures designed to develop flexibility, muscular strength and endurance. Emphasizing correct alignment and safe practice teens learn concepts of physical fitness, identify stress reduction techniques and gain an increased ability to concentrate.
Meditation
This system of self-care practiced all over the world develops core strength, reduces anxiety and depression through careful breathing.
